Second Sprite/PowerAde meet on this Saturday

THE SECOND annual Banks DIH Sprite/PowerAde cycling programme, organised by National cycling coach Hassan Mohamed, will pedal off this Saturday around the inner circuit of the National Park at 09:00hrs. Eleven races are scheduled for the day, beginning with the BMX events and culminating with the School Boys and Invitational 35-lap race of which Roraima Bikers Club’s Marlon ‘Fishy’ Williams is the defending champion, having rode away with the inaugural event last year in a time of 1h 23m: 52 seconds.
Paul De Nobrega of Continental Cycle Club is the defending champion in the Juveniles 10-lap event, after he won last year’s race, doing so in a time of 25:05seconds.
Banks DIH’s Outdoor Events Manager Mortimer Stewart is expected to be on hand to assist with the distribution of prizes won at this year’s event, while the cyclists will refresh themselves with both Sprite and PowerAde during the course of the day’s action.
