POLICE have detained a man on whose person they said a search yielded an illegal gun and ammunition.
The police report said, about 09:00 hrs on Sunday, October 30, members of a Joint Police/Army patrol stopped and searched him in Lion Mountain Area, Puruni.
An unlicensed .32 semi-automatic pistol and six rounds of ammunition were found in his possession before he was taken into custody and is assisting with further investigations.
