Amna get amnesia; still stuck in the past
De Bluetoother remembered vividly what happened on Nomination Day last week. It was celebration, sadness and chaos as the parties headed to City Hall to present their list of candidates. The PPP/C was in a celebratory mood as its large contingent moved from Freedom House to City Hall and back. Such a mood showed confidence in its achievements and its chances of a landslide victory come November 28. The joyous mood of the thousands of supporters in attendance was understandable.
The same sentiments of joy were not shared by other “parties” that are not really parties. Those were the one-man parties. No contingent. No fanfare. No list. No thinking! Only sadness. They turned up only to be turned down.
Then came chaos, as the PNC, trying to hide under APNU, turned up. Literally things broke loose. The PNC/APNU supporters broke down the barricades, pushed aside Mr. Vyphuis and the rest of the security and stormed City Hall compound.
Now, only 15 people were supposed to go in and everybody except PNC/APNU obeyed. They rushed in like a hurricane pulverising everything in its path. The whole episode was shown on TV for all to see. People watching the TV saw poor Commander George being left speechless. One Bluetoother say that George not standing behind any barricades when “hurricane APNU” hurling through. Nobody could fault he. Now, here is the story. Everybody, including Uncle George, see APNU people breaking down the barricades and storming City Hall compound.
Everybody see Mr. Granger smiling and waving at those that break through. Yet at a press conference last Monday, APNU, through Amna, say that nothing of the sort occurred. The good lady said the supporters were well behaved and nobody broke through the barricades. Now, now Amna, wasn’t there far in excess of 15 in the compound? Wasn’t the barricades pushed down? Wasn’t Mr. George pushed aside? Wasn’t Mr. Granger waving at a crowd inside when it was suppose to be outside? Cleary, lady Amna got amnesia!
She own pal, Debbie de backer, apologised on the same nomination day for the unruly behaviour of the same PNC/APNU supporters who broke down the barricades! So what did Debbie apologise for, Lady Amnesia? Well if Lady Amnat-taking-blame could say that did not happen, it could only be that she is still accustomed to the PNC that do and say them ain’t do. The PNC is supposed to be a thing of the past since APNU was born. If so, then Lady Amnesia is stuck there! Or is it that now that the PPP/C making APNU shake, the “covering” falling off and it showing its real makeup; PNC like Lady Amnesia? Hmmm!
