(REUTERS) – Former Olympic champions Maurice Greene, Gail Devers and Vince Matthews have been named to the National Track & Field Hall of Fame
They will be inducted into the Hall along with former world cross country champion Craig Virgin, seven-time Boston Marathon winner Clarence Demar and coach Bob Timmons on December 3 at the USATF annual meeting in St Louis.

Former 100 metres world record holder Greene won Olympic gold in the 100 and 4×100 metres relay at the 2000 Sydney Games and claimed three 100 metres world titles.
Devers, a three-time world champion hurdler, was the 1992 and 1996 Olympic 100 metres gold medallist and won a 4×100 relay gold in 1996.
Matthews won gold in the 400 metres at the 1972 Munich Games and with the world record-breaking U.S. 4×400 metres team at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics.
Timmons coached 16 world record holders and mentored Jim Ryun, the first U.S. high school athlete to run a sub-four-minute mile.
