Central High fundraiser a resounding success

THE Central High School REUNION 2012 Steering Committee held its second fundraiser in the form of a cake sale. The activity was held yesterday in front of the Republic Bank on Water Street, and was a resounding success.
Steering Committee Chairman, Horace Cummings told the Sunday Chronicle that the exercise was one in an ongoing set of planned activities leading up to CHS REUNION 2012, to be held from April 6 to April 13, 2012.
He continued: “Reunion 2012, under the theme ‘Centralites Reunite to Ignite’, is intended to attract the attendance of former Centralites throughout the length and breadth of Guyana and in the Diaspora.
“Also, the fructifying of REUNION 2012 will be like ‘the tree that bringeth forth its fruit in due season’, when it is anticipated that assistance will be given to our alma mater in copious measures.”
At the conclusion of the cake sale, a cake bearing the school’s emblem, which was made by a former student on request of a colleague in the Diaspora, was presented to children of Joshua House.
The next fundraiser, a barbecue, is slated for December 2011.
