Parmanand Bacchus of Non Pareil, East Coast Demerara was, up to press time, nursing a gunshot injury inflicted to his head by two men while he was at the Strathspey seawall yesterday. Police reported that, at about 10:10 hours yesterday, the 45-year-old fisherman was at the Strathspey Seawall when he was confronted by two men, one of whom shot him to his head before they both escaped.
Bacchus has been admitted to hospital for medical attention, while a woman has been arrested and is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
Bacchus’s relatives said last night that the unconscious man is a patient at the GPHC.
