WHAT makes him fit for the role? I have heard some people, who are his enemies, declaring that Comrade Donald is not fit for the role. I am confident that he is. My role today is to straighten those who are weak, to support those of you who are strong and to correct those of you who are wrong. I would use the argument of our strongest enemies; they have been preaching to this nation about the type of person that is best fit for the role of president. Candidates who have experience in raising a family and such a person must have the image and profile of a good parent.
This makes Donald Ramotar the best presidential candidate because he fits that profile. He is a respected husband and father and anyone who knows him or is acquainted with him and has the decency not to be a liar will agree that Comrade Ramotar can deliver as any good father of this nation, just as he has successfully raised his own children.
As head of state, he will create opportunities for every child of this nation to become successful citizens.
Secondly, our enemies have also said that no racist can be a good president of this country, and I fully agree with them; but it’s either they are strangers to the truth or they are compulsive liars, because within the honourable branches of Comrade Ramotar’s family tree can be found leaves, flowers and fruits representing every race of this country; therefore, he cannot afford to be a racist. To do so, he would  destroy everything that makes him happy, his immediate and extended family.
Further, I can speak from experience; all of you who know me in Linden and saw the struggle I have been through. While I was building my home it drained me physically to the extent that many were slandering my name saying that I had all kinds of sicknesses. I never knew that Comrade Ramotar as General Secretary was paying keen attention to my life as he would to everyone he is acquainted with. One day while I was visiting Freedom House in Georgetown, he turned to me and said young man; you look like you need a vacation. I cannot remember what my response was. We talked for a while on party business and the rest of the story is history. Even when I was in China on this lengthy vacation, it was all like a dream to see that this gentleman could show so much concern and care for someone he barely knew. That made me vow to serve this party to the last of my breath that God would allow me.
All of you know where I live. In the street just behind me is Sunflower Street; there is a mountain of evidence of how unconcerned the PNC is as a party. It brings tears to my eyes when I look at the residence of Mrs. Walker Bourne. It is left to jaguars and caimans to find a resting place there. It is a shame on the PNCR and its stepchild the AFC will do no better.
Brothers and sisters, those are facts that no one can deny. Is there anyone who wants to challenge this fact? I call on each and every one of you who knows to your heart that all that I have said are facts. Then you owe it to yourself and your children to vote PPP/C and Cde Donald Ramotar come elections day.
