Peeved at Granger’s wild comments at Bartica

ON Mr. Granger’s recent visit to Region 7, more in particular Bartica, he made some wild and unconcerned comments. It seems as though this gentleman was locked away or frozen for some considerable period of time. Those of you who saw Austin Powers would understand fully what he is going through.

He promised to make Bartica into a township alluding to the fact that it already possesses the necessary infrastructure of a town such as a bank, churches, hotels, hospitals, police stations, schools and television stations; what he forgot to mention to the residents of Bartica is that these infrastructure were put in place by the PPP/C Government. He mentioned that he is from Bartica. Well, he should know the state that community was in when the PPP/C Government took over this country in 1992 to what it is today.
Mr. Granger, all are welcome in the PPP/C so if you want be part of this national party you are welcome, because I could have believed that you were campaigning for the PPP/C and I can understand your excitement having seen the progress that your birthplace has under gone through the PPP/C government. Maybe you should personally congratulate President Bharrat Jagdeo and let bygones be bygones.
Mr. Granger also promised a full inquiry into the unfortunate Bartica Massacre. The PPP/C joins with you and our heart goes out to the families, relatives and friends of those people that were killed on that fateful night.
But what Mr. Granger should promise is a full inquiry into the infamous 2002 jail break which triggered this massive crime spree in our country, when our hard-working and law-abiding citizens were being robbed, raped and even killed.

I am sure all Guyana would like to know who orchestrated this hideous act of terrorism on our people and to let the world know that members of his coalition APNU was publicly referring to these criminal elements as freedom fighters and the infamous criminal ‘Blackie’ was draped with the national flag and his funeral was attended by most of his senior party officials.

My fellow Guyanese, let us not be fooled and be put to sleep with the bedtime stories that the opposition have been telling us, only to awake and realise that our country has lapsed back into the past of the 1970s and 1980s and into Mr. Granger’s master plan ‘National Service for all young people’ his so called remedy for solving the social and economic ills of our society.

Friends, come November 28, let’s vote solidly for the PPP/C and let progress, prosperity and peace continue to consume our dear land.
We are all one people, with one great nation and most importantly – one destiny to take our country forward.
