ORLANDO Archer, of Lot ‘A’ Fourth Street, Sophia, yesterday appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, yesterday, on a charge of robbery under arms charge. He pleaded not guilty to the offence particulars of which said, on September 29, being armed with an ice pick he robbed Robert Sukhai of one gold chain valued $300,000.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, said the victim was walking in the vicinity of Bishops’ High School, also in Georgetown when the defendant placed the weapon to his side and took away his jewel.
The prosecutor said Archer was apprehended by a passing mobile patrol and the chain was recovered from him.
The prosecutor had no objection and Archer was placed on $200,000 bail until October 28.
