A JUVENILE was remanded into police custody yesterday after pleading not guilty to gun and ammunition charges.
Before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, he was accused of having, on September 21, been in possession of a .32 ‘Taurus’ pistol and seven matching rounds of ammunition without being the holder of a firearm licence.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, told the court that ranks on mobile patrol stopped the defendant and a search of his person yielded the items.
The case will be called, again, on October 24.
