APNU officials interface with young professionals

A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) Presidential Candidate Brigadier (ret) David Granger, WPA Co-Leader Dr. Rupert Roopnaraine, member of the National Assembly, Mrs. Deborah Backer and young University of Guyana Student Activist, Mr. Ganesh Mahipaul took part in an Interface session with young professionals on Wednesday last. According to APNU, about 50 persons attended the session at the National Library on Wednesday.

APNU reported that Mahipaul told the gathering that he was ‘fed up’ with the PPP/C Administration.
Dr. Roopnaraine told the gathering that the collaboration between political parties is nothing new. He added that APNU was born out of necessity and it is not simply about the elections and an electoral coalition, but it is on a mission of national reconciliation.
He said the single thing that stops development in the country is the issue of racism. “This division in our country has to be healed if we are going to advance in this country, and that is why we have proposed something which is unique. We are proposing that, after winning this election, to establish a government of national unity. Guyana needs national healing and national reconciliation has to be brought in by a Government of national unity”.

A.P.N.U Presidential Candidate David Granger began by telling the gathering that “APNU is the only partnership which will guarantee the voters that we will bring about something called inclusionary democracy, and that is our mission”. He explained that APNU is set out to change the political culture because the old culture has divided the country. He said that the prime concern is with parents and their children’s inability to get jobs. He noted too that schools are ancient more so in rural areas. APNU’s focus is to give young Guyanese a future. The session was chaired by Mrs. Deborah Backer.
