Region Two getting ready to host fourth leg

WITH the fourth annual Ministry of Health/Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports ‘Ride for Life’ five-stage cycle race being launched this morning at the National AIDS Secretariat, Administrators of Region Two are getting ready to host the fourth leg of this prestigious event. According to a press release sent from the Region, the fourth leg will pedal off from Supenaam, proceed to Charity and return to Suddie for the finish on Saturday, October 8, following the first three legs which will see the cyclists journey from Corriverton to Georgetown in two days.
Director of Sport in the National Sports Commission, Neil Kumar, said the event which is being held for the fourth year and is looked forward to by the cyclists, will bring joy to the people of Region Two who look forward to the excitement the event brings with it.
Kumar, Regional Vice-Chairman Vishnu Samaroo and Member of Parliament for the Region, Parmanand Persaud, were among others present at a meeting held in the Regional Office yesterday, with Samaroo saying the Regional Administration welcomes the event to the Region once again.
