No collaboration with government on housing project

YOUR article dated Thursday September 8, 2011 headlined: “Two more Amerindian communities getting homes through collaboration” in which you indicated that Mr. Sylvin Rafael said that $55M will be spent by Food for the Poor Inc., in collaboration with the government to construct the houses, is incorrect. I met personally with Toshao of Mashabo, Rafael, on Friday, September 9, 2011 with respect to the release and he assured me that he never made such a comment.
These houses are funded by overseas donors in collaboration with Food for the Poor Inc. and all the funding is supplied from the donors and the land for the two villages are under the control of the Village Council.
I wish to reiterate that the Toshao mentioned that he never uttered such a comment.
We are kindly asking that same be corrected as it can seriously affect the relationship between the donor and Food for the Poor Incorporated.

Editor’s note-We sincerely regret the error and wish to assure that it was unintentional.
