‘HALF the truth is often a great lie’ seems to be one of the themes in the unfolding of the Wikileaks-Glenn Lall saga. More and more of these ‘self-serving, half truth/lies’ are coming to the fore, and all of a sudden, suspicions are growing into convictions. Here are a few very ‘juicy’ ones with serious implications.
Omprakash ‘Buddy’ Shivraj, according to a leaked report by Glenn Lall, had run into financial difficulties, when he was building his combination hotel/gym/nightclub/restaurant and bar and could not access funding from anywhere, including the commercial banks. So like a ‘man in need who will do any deed,’ he, ‘Buddy’ sought funding from business colleagues, whom Glenn Lall described to the US officials as the “drug kingpins” in Guyana; whom he also apparently named. This story was rebutted however, as a disturbed ‘Buddy’ Shivraj repudiated Glenn Lall’s assertions. So one can see the war has been waged, and is set to rage. ‘Buddy’ seems to be in the clear as he has already refuted Lall’s allegations regarding his financial sources, providing the information in the press, regarding his financing. So the big question is, who are the ‘named suspects?’ The actual ‘drug kingpins?’ Who else is likely to be the next Roger Khan? Here is a profile, all based on ‘hearsay.’
Peter Ramsaroop seems to be a sexual predator (having been accused by a young tenant of electronically spying on her. He is also defaced with suggestions that he has been a wife-abuser and an irresponsible father. The public also thinks that he is engaging in dishonest business practices, and thus his solid financial base. Recently, he has turned to politics, and was deemed by Glenn Lall as being ‘mad’. ‘Mad’ here suffices better than the lexical ‘insane’ which might soften the accusation. This is because Glenn Lall has some personal vendetta to spew forth.
Glenn Lall’s calling Peter Ramsaroop ‘mad’ stems from the fact that Peter Ramsaroop made the startling declaration that (Lall) knew the gunmen who murdered his (KN’s) pressmen. This as one can see, has implications of really making Glenn into a beast. Many who know Lall, will vouch and say that Ramsaroop’s outbursts are not far-fetched. Glenn Lall, according to those who are close to him, say that such an act is most consistent with the way he operates. But why?
Again, it is the ‘according to’ stories that the public has to work with. Ramsaroop’s statements mean a couple of things for sure. If Lall knows the killers of the five innocent KN staff members, was the ‘shooting’ staged, so that Lall will be seen as a victim” and so elicit sympathy? Or was it done by a third party to send a warning, or just to retaliate, getting even for a previous wrong? For sure, the murdering act manifested no sign of robbery. One must also remember that Glenn Lall was caught in electricity theft. So the caution is not to attach ‘nobility’ to him.
A final thought in this miasmic pot pourri, is that in the hunt for quick and big money it seems that ‘anything goes.’ Here are some questions. How come a ‘bora seller’ and ‘shoe trader’ is able to accumulate wealth, arrogate importance to himself and behave in a most arrogant manner in such a short period of time?
