THE members of the Justices of the Peace and Commissioners Association take this opportunity to congratulate and thank our Amerindian Guyanese for their contribution to building what is now Guyana.
Being the first citizens of this land, the Amerindians made way for all those who followed Europeans, Africans, East Indians, etc. all those who followed learned something from the Amerindians about their foods, drinks, and their way of life.
Today we can proudly say that Amerindians are not just children of the forest, they are part of the Guyanese society, holding top posts in this administration.
So, in this Amerindian Heritage month, I urge our Amerindian citizens to see themselves as a valid and equal part of the whole Guyanese society.
