The Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company Limited (GT&T) is offering talented Guyanese a once-in-a-lifetime shot at stardom and the chance to shine in the latest GT&T Guyana Star Jingle and Song Competition.
You can be one of two persons who will win a coveted recording contract and a brand new motorcar. This year, the much anticipated contest will be split into two categories, the English and Indian segments which will see both groups competing simultaneously.
In addition to the inclusion of the Indian segment, the entire competition has undergone a drastic makeover and is expected to stand out as the best year of its existence.
Persons participating in the Indian segment will be required to perform chutney, filmi, folk or Indi-pop rendition.
The English segment caters for any genre of English music. In 2006, Guyana saw the first staging of the GT&T Jingle competition which attracted the attention of thousands. It was GT&T’s 2007 Jingle and Song Competition that saw the career birth of Guyanese singer Timeka Marshall being launched. Several competitions followed and multiple stars were born, the last being Lindener Malika Boyd in 2009.
The competition returns this year by popular demand and is now open to all age groups. GT&T is assuring supporters that this year will shatter all previous records set and Guyanese can look forward to nothing short of amazing.
