A career thief, drug user and perhaps an alcoholic recently was sentenced to six years imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to two counts of break and enter and larceny charges. Marl Dummett, 44, of 37 Ketley Street, Charlestown, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, and particulars of the charges stated that between June 15 and 16, he broke and entered Maggie’s Snackette and stole a quantity of items valued at $366,000, property of Cindy Maloney. The other charge stated that between June 19 and 20, he broke and entered the Universal Electronics Store and stole a quantity of items valued at $488,000, property of Lawrence Braithwaite.
This cold-blooded murderer Joseph McPherson was sentenced to eight years imprisonment for the murder of his wife, Fiona Fraser-McPherson, after he pleaded guilty to the lesser count of manslaughter.
Justice Winston Patterson handed down the sentence on Monday.
Perhaps society must be asking for this injustice that’s why it’s so.
I am lost for words because it does not matter how much civil society cries out for just justice, this murderous campaign will go on and on with impunity.
Eight years for taking a human life and six years for a career drug-using thief. As far as I am concerned, the killer should be hanged by the neck while the career drug-using thief,should spend the rest of his life behind bars so as to ease the burden on civil society.
