Keishar’s donates school gear to students of Sophia Primary

THE annual presentation of school gear from Keishar’s to the Sophia Primary School in ‘A’ Field Sophia, took place yesterday. The presentation saw some 109 students of the school receiving free school gear as the new school term fast approaches. The annual event, now in its seventh year, is done just before the new school year begins. Schools re-open on September 5.
This year’s presentation saw the distribution of school clothing, footwear and stationery. The store also partners with the school in its school-feeding programme. The company has developed a close relationship with the school and community over the years, as the store’s gesture eases the burden many families face.
Speaking at the ceremony Keishar’s Manager Shiv Nandalall, said it is a gesture towards the community so that as many children as possible attend school so as to gain a good education. A good education, he said, will help them as they go on to seek good jobs. Keishar’s spends $450,000 on these donations annually.
The presentation was done by Ms. Beverly Quail of Keishar’s Shoppe and Variety Store.
