KINGSTOWN, St Vincent – The WICB has engaged Sports Performance Psychologist Jocelyne Brooks to work with the West Indies Women’s Team during their preparatory camp in St Vincent prior to their series against Pakistan. “With her vast experience and wide skill set Jocelyne will certainly be able to assist the players in their mental preparation for the tough series against Pakistan and the World Cup qualifiers later this year,” WICB Player Relations Officer Ayana Cooper said.
“The West Indies Women’s Team have been performing extremely well on the international circuit and now that they seek to take it to the next level in establishing themselves as one of the top-ranked teams in world cricket they will have the benefit of advice and insights from Jocelyne,” Cooper added.
Brooks, who holds a PhD in Applied Psychology works as a consultant with the England & Wales Cricket Board, the British Triathlon Federation, Warwickshire County Cricket Club and the British Equestrian Federation among other sporting organisations.
Brooks worked as a sport scientist with the England Women’s team for 8 years, and played dual role at the 2000 World Cup as sport scientist and manager, in addition to working within the national U-15 and U-19 boys’ programme.
Brooks also works on the ECB Level IV Elite Coach Education programme, and served as Sports Psychology Consultant to the British Equestrian Team at the Athens and Beijing Olympics and Paralympics.
A graduate of the Universities of Gloucestershire and Brighton, Brooks is a trained and experienced practitioner.
