Linden man accused of swearing falsely for passport

THIRTY-FIVE-YEAR-OLD Earl Nieuenkirk, of Wismar, Linden, was yesterday put on $60,000 bail, by Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton, after he pleaded not guilty to making a false declaration for procuring a new passport. It is alleged that, on August 15, at the Central Immigration and Passport Office, for the purpose of procuring the travel document, he declared, in writing, that he was never issued one previously, knowing it to be false.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, requested that a substantial amount be set as surety and the case was transferred to another court for November 3.
