Four in police custody following Enmore drug bust

POLICE on Tuesday afternoon searched the home of an East Coast Demerara taxi service owner in which they unearthed 72 kilogrammes of cocaine in false bottoms of 182 metal havan kunds (urns used in Hindu worship). Police Crime Chief Seelall Persaud said three adults and a teenager are in police custody assisting with investigations.
He added that police swooped down on the Enmore, East Coast Demerara house, armed with a search warrant, and made the drug bust at about 13:00hrs on Tuesday.
Persaud said that during the search, of the building, 275 rounds of ammunition of varying caliber were also found in the house.
He added that the cocaine found on Tuesday has a street value of $500M.
