THE mother, Letta Lynch is pleading with her 13-year-old daughter, Cassey Crawford, to return to their Lot 43 Plum Park, South Sophia, Greater Georgetown home.
The 37-year-old city vendor, who has four other children, said the missing girl absconded last week Monday, saying she was going to the yard toilet. Maintaining that the South Ruimveldt Secondary School student is not yet ready for adult life, considering her age, the woman appealed to the girl come back.
Lynch suspects the teen is with a male friend, who also resides in Sophia as he admitted knowing her whereabouts but will not cooperate.
“I asked him if he knows where my daughter is and he said yes but will not tell, since he just has to make one phone call for her return,” the schoolgirl’s mother said.
She said the young man accused her of a lot of things and claimed they are his reasons for keeping the girl away.
The woman said the teen is a problem case who has been previously referred to welfare officers because she is out of control.
Lynch said, however, once her daughter returns, she will make a decision about her future welfare and it will be the right thing for her at this time.
Meantime, though, noting that the girl has taken her belongings, including photos, clinic cards and other things, Lynch is hoping she can soon locate her.
If they know where Crawford can be found, members of the public are asked to contact the nearest Police station.
