New CARICOM Secretary-General assumes office tomorrow

AMBASSADOR Irwin LaRocque will formally assume office as  Secretary-General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) tomorrow.
His accession as the Community’s seventh Secretary-General follows his selection by the Conference of Heads of Government on  July 21, last.
An event to mark the occasion will be held at the CARICOM Secretariat, Liliendaal, starting at 10:00hrs, and will feature remarks by Chairman of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM, and Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. Denzil Douglas, via video conference; and Vice-President of the CARICOM Secretariat Staff  Association, Mr. Dia Christian, a  Senior Project Officer attached to the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME ) unit.
Ambassador LaRocque will also respond to the remarks.
