THE Duke of Edinburgh Award International Gold event will be held in Kenya from September 2 to 16 and a release said the President’s Youth Award: Republic of Guyana (PYARG) Field Assistant Officer in Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam), Mr. Herald Alves will represent this country. The triennial congregation gathers gold awardees from different countries around the world and the aim of the occasion is to instruct and inspire those who have attained the highest level of the award to undertake ongoing leadership roles regionally, nationally and globally.
According to the release, the PYARG has selected Alves as this country’s representative at the 16-day forum and the American Regional Office of the Duke of Edinburgh Award International Association will sponsor his trip to Kenya.
Alves will be joined by other participants from Barbados and Dominica to make up the team of the Americas, it said.
