CHIEF Executive Officer and Founder of RK’s Security Eco Stars Motors, Mr. Roshan Khan donated $150,000 to the New Jersey Arya Samaj Mandir Inc. Humanitarian Mission yesterday. The donation was handed over at his Light and Charlotte Streets, Bourda, Georgetown office, where it was received by Pandit Suresh Sugrim, President of the beneficiary organisation.
Khan said he was impressed with the project to care for the less fortunate and saw it fit to make a contribution and Sugrim assured that the money will be put to good use.
The recipient disclosed that the cash would go towards the construction of a benevolent home for senior citizens, abused men and women, orphans and children in Berbice.
The New Jersey Arya Samaj Mandir Humanitarian Mission has started a housing project in which families, who live in poor conditions can own their own homes through self-help construction of buildings with interest-free monthly installments.
The religious body is dedicated to helping children, seniors, and other individuals who are living in dire poverty, made possible by the generosity of other contributors, sponsors and caregivers who provide benefits and services that meet their basic everyday needs.
The objective is to enhance their human dignity and raise their physical and educational levels in a meaningful and lasting way, with a vision that each person will grow into a healthy, educated, and self-reliant individual. (M. Outridge)
