A COW was killed on the spot and an 8-year-old boy, shepherding it home after grazing, sustained serious injuries and had to be admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH), after the animal was hit by a motor car as it was crossing the Agricola Public Road late yesterday afternoon. The accident happened around 19:00hrs, witnesses said, and a man who gave his name as Michael Moses, recalled that the child, known as ‘Brandon’ was leading the animal home when a motor car, travelling along the main thoroughfare, collided with the animal, and knocked it to the ground.
On impact, the child was flung several feet away and landed on the parapet at the roadside.
The child was picked up and rushed to hospital by public spirited residents.
Police are investigating.
