THE son of Chartered Account and talk show host, Christopher Ram, has threatened to “eliminate” websites that have been discussing his family business.
An e-mail to the ruling People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C),sent by Ravendra Ram, from Winter Gardens Florida, stated that the younger Ram is “annoyed” that a known PPP/C activist has been revealing information regarding his father and their personal businesses.
The email reads “I am annoyed that one of your operatives, Kwame Mc Coy, has been revealing highly sensitive information about me and my family. The leaking of the divorce affidavit of my mom, Ena Ram, and dad, Christopher Ram, is vindictive. I hope to let you know that me and Freddie Kissoon are taking matters in our own hands to eliminate those websites that are discussing my dad’s affairs. Why can’t you let my dad do his dealings in peace?” the email said.
The younger Ram said he will be teaming up with several other known anti- government personnel to bring down several websites, including that of the PPP/C.
“I will seek the help of Mark Benschop in eliminating your PPP websites: The Mirror, and Live In Guyana. I hope you get this message clear…Me and Christopher Ram are getting serious with this situation. You know how much embarrassment you have caused me, my siblings and the rest of my family?” the email added.
The young Ram asked, “How dare you reveal my family’s affairs?”
Efforts to contact Ravendra Ram were futile, however a close associate of the young man said while he is not confirming the email was sent by Ram, the US based young man had complained to him on several occasions that there are a number of blogs in Guyana that seem aligned to the ruling party, that have been releasing information regarding his family matters.
“I am not sure if it’s an email from Chris, but what I know is that he raised these concerns with me before and he seemed very upset. I advised him to stay clear of this since he has his own life to live, and if his parents made decisions, sometime or the other it will get out in the public,” the colleague of the younger Ram said.
Meanwhile, a source close to the PPP said an investigation has been launched into the threats, however the matter has not yet engaged the attention of the police.
According to the source, efforts are also ongoing to authenticate the source of the e-mail and already it was established that the e-mail was sent from a Florida IP Address.
The source also confirmed that efforts are ongoing to establish whether the hacking of the Government Information Agency (GINA) and the Office of the President (OP) websites in the past were all part of the attack by Ravendra Ram.
