GECOM’s outstanding payments

IT is with tremendous hope that I am pleading with the high authorities to intervene in GECOM’s debt for caterers in Berbice. I have signed a contract to provide meals for GECOM, Corriverton Sub – Office, for two days which were well delivered. I have catered for GECOM, Corriverton Sub – Office, for a Training session held on the 13th and 14th March, 2010 at a cost of over $300,000.00. It has been 14 months and GECOM is not making any effort or progress in this debt despite numerous phone calls. All that is being told to me is that “Ministry of Finance or Mr. Luncheon has not released funds and so payments cannot be made.” It is known for the fact that services rendered from the time after mine was rendered, received payments and nothing is being done with mine, which is over a year.
I am in dire need of my money in order to assist in the financing of my mother’s sickness, which is deteriorating each day. This frustrating credit has pushed me into taking several loans from relatives, an act my family has never done in its lifetime, and so I have no other option except to seek higher authorities’ didactic help which will significantly aid in GECOM’s payment to me. This fact is being told to GECOM’s Officials and yet nothing is being done. My business, which operated on a small scale has come to a halt because of this debt.
I would like to ask the following questions.
1. Is this how GECOM buys food on credit to conduct sessions for national exercises?
2. Where else would sell food on credit and for so long?
3. Is GECOM going to rob me of my honest earnings?
4. If GECOM knew funds are not being released to hold such a huge task which requires millions of dollars, why do it and involve innocent people?
5. What actions are being put in place for this irresponsible act?
6. Should I go in front of GECOM’s office with a begging bowl to acquire what’s rightfully mine?
7. Should I explode my anger into actions and drag GECOM to court after working so hard?
8. Should I write letters to the Donor Agencies that are supporting Elections?
9. Why GECOM’s High Officials are sitting taking home their hefty sum of salaries and not paying any attention to my payments?
10. Don’t I have a family to maintain and a life to lead which requires money?
11. To whom should I go to seek my payments for the trauma I am in?

This letter was forwarded to the Office of the President in order to gain Mr. Luncheon’s attention since the 30th of May 2011 and nothing has been said or done despite numerous telephone calls made to his office. I am still waiting for a favourable response from him and hope this stressful issue can be dealt with.
