Former national footballer killed at Karasabai

POLICE are investigating the alleged murder of former national footballer, Daxton Parks, 28, of St. Ignatius, Lethem, which occurred at about 22:00 hrs on Sunday, July 03, 2011, at Karasabai.

Investigations so far have revealed that Daxton Parks and another man were involved in an argument during which he was shot with an arrow and bow and later succumbed to his injury.
The suspect has been arrested and the bow and arrow believed to have been used in the incident have been recovered by the police.
A team of investigators led by a senior detective has been dispatched to the area.
Daxton Parks’s brothers, Anthony and Peter Parks were also national footballers at both the junior and senior levels in which they played many games.
