A man, who is wanted for questioning in connection with the murder of his partner four months ago, was arrested in neighbouring Suriname, Guyanese police confirmed yesterday. According to a report from the online ‘Demwaves’ website, information out of Suriname said Hubert Pilgrim was picked up yesterday in Paramaribo.
Guyanese police in February issued a wanted bulletin for 41-year-old Pilgrim of 32 Hadfield Street, Lodge after he fatally stabbed Nathalie Loncke.
Police Commissioner, Henry Greene told Demerara Waves (www.demwaves.com ) that Loncke could easily be deported and handed over to Guyanese police. Deportation is said to be an easy option, especially since he would have entered that Dutch-speaking country illegally.
Loncke of 9 Norton Street, Wortmanville died at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation after she was stabbed twice to her head.
The incident occurred on February 12 in Norton Street. Loncke was a teacher at Selman Fraser Nursery School, Albouystown. She was also a relative of basketball player, Naylon Loncke.
