THIRTY-ONE-YEAR-OLD Gavin Dublin and 30-year-old Alana Dublin, of Middle Street, Buxton, East Coast Demerara, were remanded to prison yesterday on a joint drug trafficking charge.
The husband and wife both pleaded not guilty before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry to the offence, particulars of which said, on June 15, they were in possession of one kilogramme (228 grammes) of cannabis (marijuana) for the purpose.
Police Sergeant Vishnu Hunte, prosecuting, said they were charged after ranks from the Narcotics Branch, acting on a June 15 report, searched their house and found the narcotic on a table.
The prosecutor successfully objected to bail for the couple and the case was transferred to Vigilance Court, also on East Coast Demerara, for June 23.
