PPP salutes party stalwart Edmond Ford on 91st birthday

THE People’s Progressive Party (PPP) paid tribute to one of its stalwarts, Edmond Ford, who celebrated his 91st birthday last Wednesday. A release from the party said it salutes long-time stalwart Mr. Edmond Ford who celebrated his 91st birthday on June 8 2011.
“Mr. Ford of Buxton, East Coast Demerara was once again surrounded by relatives and well wishers of the PPP to mark this significant occasion.”
“The party’s Presidential Candidate Mr. Donald Ramotar also expressed the wish that Mr. Ford would push on to score ‘a 100’.
“At 91 Mr. Ford is still fit and agile and he credits his longevity to a healthy and stress free lifestyle as he promptly pointed out that he does not drink alcohol or smoke and is a vegetarian.”
“He was born in Buxton in the early 19th century, joined the Peoples Progressive Party in the 1940s and proudly remains a member.”
“Mr. Ford continues to sell the party’s weekly newspaper ‘The Mirror’ a service he has been doing for his party for over half a century,” the release said.
