DEFENDING champions Cellink Berbice have named a strong 14-man squad to represent the Ancient County in this year’s Guyana Cricket Board (GCB)-organised, GTM-sponsored Under-19 Inter-county three-day tournament which is scheduled to start on Monday at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence.
Former national Under-15 captain Shawn Pereira was appointed to lead the squad and will have national Under-19 batsman Joemal La Fleur as his deputy.
Another national Under-19 cricketer Dominique Rikhi is also in the squad as well as Lloydel Lewis, Clinton Pestano, Andy Mohan, Kelvin Leitch and Kevin Ramdeen who all represented Berbice at this level last year.
Also named were former national Under-15 cricketers Jamally Odle, Romario De Jonge, Veerapen Permaul and Gudakesh Motie, Surujnarine Kandasammy and Linden Austin, as the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) seeks to emulate the Under-15 team who repeated as champ[ions this year.

The standby players are: Vidal Crandon, Waqar Hassan, Sasenarine Ernest, Sharmindra Hardyal, Parmanand Narine, Shailendra Shameer and Deshwani Prashad.
