… Action kicks off on July 2
ESTABLISHED football teams, both male and female, within the 10 Administrative Regions of Guyana as well as other groups of individuals harbouring the confidence and determination of claiming the top prize in the inaugural Guyana Telephone and Telegraph (GT&T) Company-sponsored FastBall competition, have been busy whipping themselves into competitive shape for this nationwide spectacle.

Registration kicked off on May 23 and ends on Friday, June 17 and the organisers (GT&T, Kashif and Shanghai and Hits and Jams) are aiming to attract over 1 000 teams for the competition which will see games played for 30 minutes and a half-time break of seven minutes.
Under the Tagline: “It’s not just football it’s FastBall”, fans, spectators and enthusiasts are in for exciting times during what is anticipated to be fast-paced matches with teams aiming to outdo each other.
Registration forms have been printed in the daily newspapers and when completed can be dropped off at GT&T Business Offices countrywide as well as the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Association Offices, where teams will receive a receipt along with a copy of the competition rules when they submit the completed forms.
The Mackenzie Sports Club ground in the bauxite mining town of Linden will host the first day of competition set for Saturday July 2, with the remaining games being played at venues throughout the length and breadth of Guyana, and the final set for the Guyana National Stadium, Providence, on Saturday August 6.
