JAIRAM Tilkuram, 25, of Black Bush Polder, Berbice is missing since May 24, 2011 after he went to visit friends at Whim Village, Berbice and failed to return to his uncle’s home where he was staying.
His mother, Padmawattie Tilkuram told the Guyana Chronicle yesterday that she did not receive any telephone calls from her missing son nor did anyone call to report the whereabouts of her child.
The woman added that she is very worried since searches for him yielded nothing and they have been searching for days.
Mrs. Tilkuram noted that she was out of the country when her son went missing and since her return to Guyana she had been searching for her son and a missing person report was made at Whim Police Station and ranks promised to investigate.
The woman said that she even went to the hospitals, the mortuaries and also to the last place her son went to before he vanished.
She stated that the people told her that her son had indeed visited their home but left on May 24, 2011, at about 19:00 hrs on a bicycle for home and it was the last time he was seen.
Mrs. Tilkuram said that she last spoke to her son via the telephone on May 24, 2011 when he called her to talk about his younger brother’s welfare and everything seem well except that he mentioned that he was going to get into some form of trouble but did not say much about it to her.
She said: “I am really puzzled as well as confused at the same time because my son cannot be found and I don’t know what happened and I am pleading for members of the public to come forward if they have information as to the whereabouts of my loved one.”
Jairam Tilkuram only returned to Guyana about a month ago from Curacao where he was working and was residing with his mother’s brother.
