“A WONDERFUL addition to the cuisine of Guyana,” was how President Jagdeo described the official opening last night of the Maharaja Palace Restaurant on Sherriff Street, east of the city. Continuing, the President said a restaurant of its kind was long overdue. “As disposable income in Guyana grows, so does the demand for better service.” He noted that the standard of the restaurant was extremely high.
The restaurant, which offers an authentic fusion of Indian, Malaysian and Japanese food, is located on the top floor of the Anjees building next to the Survival Supermarket Complex.
The restaurant is owned and operated by Angie Sherman, proprietrix of ‘Anjees’ store on the same floor and her husband, Sanjay Sherman.
