PORT OF SPAIN, CMC – GUYANA and West Indies Under-19 batsman Trevon Griffith struck a half-century as Preysal beat Moosai Sports on the Duckworth/Lewis method in the domestic Twenty20 competition here last weekend. Playing at Guaracara Park, Griffith hammered an unbeaten 65 as Preysal, chasing Moosai Sports’ 138 for six, reached 100 without loss when rain ended the fixture prematurely.
Guyanese Neil Williams top-scored with 73 to lead Moosai’s batting effort, striking six fours off 64 balls before being run-out by Griffith.
Fellow Guyanese Chris Barnwell chipped in with 21 off 14 balls with three fours, but Griffith tore into Moosai’s attack in a savage way, banging 11 fours and one towering six in an innings that required 30 balls.
Supported by Kjorn Ottley who finished unbeaten on 29, Griffith ensured that when the rains came after eight overs, Preysal were ahead on the DL method.
