$6.5M burglary accused refused bail on police objection

CLINTON Kissoon, 46, of Lot 58 William Street, Kitty, was yesterday remanded to prison on an indictable break and enter and larceny charge.
Before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Behary, he was charged with the May 23 burglary at Riaz Trading, also in Georgetown,
Particulars of the offence said he stole 30 laptops and 40 flash drives in booty valued a total of $6.5M, property of Rafeek Khan.
Police Corporal Venetta Pindar, prosecuting, said the virtual complainant received a telephone phone, informing him that a door at the business place was open and he arrived there to see Kissoon, on the surveillance camera, removing the merchandise.
The prosecutor, in successfully objecting to bail for the accused, said he is a repeat offender.
The case was put off for report on June 3.
