POWER supply was knocked out around 05:00hrs yesterday, plunging Herstelling and several nearby communities into darkness, after a truck, speeding along the wet Herstelling Public Road crashed into a nearby steel barrier, bringing a lamp post down. The post and dangling power lines remained dangerously strewn across the road for a considerable while, disrupting traffic and resulting in a huge traffic build up for a prolonged period, before a Guyana Power and Light team arrived on the scene to take corrective action.
