FORMER employee of the Guyana Oil Company (GuyOil) yesterday appeared in court to answer a charge of larceny by clerk or servant.
Dunung Tang, 19, of 58 Fifth Street Alberttown, appeared before Magistrate Susanna Lovell and pleaded not guilty to the charge, which stated that on May 14, being employed by GuyOil as a clerk or servant, he stole $1,917 from his employer. Attorney-at-law Mr. Mohammed Zaffar represented the defendant, and informed the court that when his client’s shift ended that day, all the money was accounted for. He said his client is denying the allegation against him, and he will prove his innocence.
The lawyer requested reasonable bail, which was granted in the sum of $20,000. The matter will be called again on June 10.
