Remanded to prison on a robbery charge

Julian Craigen (no address given) was yesterday remanded to prison by Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on a robbery charge.
He was not required to plead to the charge, which stated that on February 14, being with another person, he robbed Seleena Ahmad of a quantity of items valued at $4.7M.
Police Corporal Venetta Pindar, prosecuting, said on the day in question, the virtual complainant was about to enter her yard when the accused, in company of another person, approached her and demanded the bag containing the items.
Pindar said an eyewitness saw the accused and pointed him out when he was arrested. She objected to bail on the grounds that the accused may not return to court for trial and he may commit other offences.
The accused was remanded to prison and will return to court on May 31.
