POLICE on the Essequibo Coast are still combing thick bushes in the backlands for four youths who escaped from the New Opportunity Corps (NOC), at Onderneeming, on Monday. The hunt for the escapees took ranks aback of Onderneeming and Suddie as well as Lima Sands.
The teenage quartet, between 15 and 16 years old, were tasked with weeding and clearing the NOC compound when they fled from there.
It is reported that they were probably unsupervised and only discovered missing when officers conducted a check around 20:00hrs.
NOC officials have joined the police in following several leads to recapture the teenagers.
