THE West Indies selectors last evening announced a 13-man squad for the first Digicel Test against Pakistan starting at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence, on  Thursday. Opener Kraigg Brathwaite and all-rounder Andre Russell have been excluded from the 15-man training squad.
SQUAD – Darren Sammy (captain), Brendan Nash (vice-captain), Devendra Bishoo, Carlton Baugh Jr, Darren Bravo, Shiv Chanderpaul, Fidel Edwards, Ravi Rampaul, Kemar Roach, Marlon Samuels, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Lendl Simmons, Devon Smith. Opener Kraigg Brathwaite who was invited to participate in the two-day match will remain in Guyana to work with Batting Consultant Desmond Haynes during the period of the First Digicel Test.
All-rounder Andre Russell, who was also involved in the two-day match, will return to Jamaica.
The West Indies Team will have full training sessions today and tomorrow at the Guyana National Stadium in preparation for the First Digicel Test which bowls off on Thursday at 10:00hrs (09:00hrs Jamaica Time).
Today at 11:30hrs Chairman of Selectors Clyde Butts will host a media conference at the Guyana National Stadium Press Conference Room.
Tomorrow at 11:00hrs captain Darren Sammy will host a pre-match press conference at the same venue.
