Email exchanges reveal…
AFC/PNC collusion and nefarious agenda to disrupt PPP meeting in New York
– opposition supporters converted to PPP instead

THROUGH a disgusted and disillusioned former supporter of the AFC, Chronicle has become privy to email interchanges between one Dr. Rohan Somar and a Paul Sanders – copied to many known anti-PPP letter-writers, such as Sasenarine Singh, Charles Sugrim, Mahendra Jagmohan, et al, as well as Salahuddin Nausruddin, aka Salim, former ROAR campaign manager, who is currently working on the AFC elections campaign. The email exchanges detail nasty strategies planned to disrupt the recent PPP meeting at the Tobago Club in New York.
Their plans failed abysmally, because many of their members who went to heckle became converts to the PPP, and instead of breaking up the meeting, ended up being mesmerized by Guyana’s President Bharrat Jagdeo, and PPP Presidential Candidate Mr. Donald Ramotar, because one can judge sincerity and the truth when they can use their own intelligence to make analytic judgements, instead of being swayed by lies and propaganda misrepresenting actualities and realities of the socio-economic dynamics in Guyana, as is constantly being peddled by power-hungry sharks with agendas inimical to national interests.
The following are direct quotes from printouts of the email exchanges that were handed in to Chronicle.
An email from Dr. Rohan Somar to Paul Sanders on Sunday 24th April reads:  “Thanks bro…We are trying to win a war, not just the battle…I was schooled in the US Military in militancy.”
Paul Sanders wrote later that same day as follows: “I believe that your project there is to show them that you are a power to reckon with. Richmond Hill is complacent, given the fact it has traditional Eastern Guyanese who support to (sic) the memory of Cheddi Jagan. They are not voters, by the way, so there is no need to win them.”
“The object is to force your opinion. The PPP has a history of not welcoming dissent, or at least treating dissent as reactionary. They prefer mediocrity, don’t give them that. This is your opportunity to make a statement…or you can go soft pedal and don’t get noticed.
“And by the way, no objects that can be construed as weapons….no physical contact. Plan your move very assiduously; talk it over with all participants.  This can be a real pivotal point of changing lanes for many. Raise your voice…give it your best shot. America’s democracy considers that civilized Richmond Hill may not think so, but you know better.”
From Dr. Rohan Somar to Paul Sanders that same evening wrote:  “This is really taking (sic) to them.  (In caps) I AGREE WITH THE OUTSIDE STRATEGY.  BUT AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE INSIDE STRATEGY. Could result in confrontation and could backfire. REMEMBER WE WANT TO WIN OVER THEIR SUPPORTERS IN Richmond Hill. YOU GET MORE BEE (sic) WITH HONEY THAN WITH VINIGER (SIC). Let’s discuss @ 7PM via SKYPE.”
(NOTE:  The inference here is that the prior suggested strategy was to violently derail the meeting, with the contention that Richmond Hill citizens are too civilized through America’s democracy to react in remonstration against the AFC/PNC supporters, even if their methods of disrupting the PPP meeting borders on uncivilized behaviour.)
Even later that day, Paul Sanders wrote, presumably to all the others who had been receiving copies of the foregoing emails: “Dear all, the only viable plan you can activate now is to undermine, undercut their presence.
“Hand out handbills on Friday afternoon, then the hour before the meeting.  The message of the handbill should highlight crime and scams.  Nothing too  intellectual; just readable and succinct enough for browsing but with good impact.”
(NOTE:  In other words, there need not be factual accounts, but lies if necessary; or regurgitations of misrepresentation of facts, which is their primary strategy.)
The email instructions continue: “Go viral on the internet; send protest slogans to all: friends, PPP, PNC, everyone – keep pounding on people’s consciousness. Ask people to boycott the meeting or forward a few burning questions for them to ask the president and his minion. Keep stimulating them with resistance themes.
“Now for the meeting:  Go as a very large entourage (sic!).  The brethren from Brooklyn MUST attend:  Their variety adds a very powerful dimension in a predominantly East Indian/PPP bastion. This also presents the AFC image as multiracial.”
(NOTE:  Now the brethren from Brooklyn being referred hereto are PNC supporters, but the AFC, true to their credo of crooked politics of misrepresentation and opportunism, have no qualms of using them to buffer their numbers and deliberately sending an erroneous message of plurality.)
Continuing, Sanders further instructed:  “Break up the groups into several sub-groups of about 8 persons in each.  Spread out the groups in the building: Perhaps 3 groups in the front, right, left and centre. Put two groups in the middle and two more towards the back.
“Start the heckling from one group, and allow the speaker to answer and in the middle another group begins to dump more assault. Give them time to feel for an answer and restart the assault. By then the noise level will rise (as) the other groups start to tune in…let the sound reverberate right, left and centre.
“Allow the speakers to re-group. Let them get their breath (sic), let them feel they are in control. And start the assault all over. No weapons, no cursing, no contact with anyone…..Interrupt, disrupt, heckle, give them the works. Wear them out. Do not let them develop any theme. Someone will call the police or the fire department. The building has a code for over-crowding. Let the noise continue. Let disorder reign. Keep misdirecting them. Do not let them get the mike. By this time you have a full-fledged riot.
“Now you can leave. The meeting is broken up. Or they have lots of trouble to recompense after such a raucous (sic). The main thing is you take away the show from them. The world media will make a big deal of it. You all become stars.
“That is what you call anarchy. I have seen it done before, right here in Richmond Hill. Ask me, I know. (SGD) Paul.”
Wow!  What a plan.  What a dream. The only thing is that their dream became a nightmare because their “large entourage” was a mere pitiable handful of protestors, and it is on record that the PPP meeting was a resounding success.  Their plan whereby “This can be a real pivotal point of changing lanes for many” backfired, because it backfired and their few members in the audience were instead  converted to the PPP, which is why Chronicle was provided with the transcripts of the emails detailing their proposed Machiavellian subterfuges.
From the foregoing, readers can judge for themselves the quality of character of the AFC leadership; and also judge whether their protestations about not joining the PNC rings true, because they have often colluded with the PNC before, especially on issues and actions in Parliament; and these missives quoted above highlight their willingness to join forces with the PNC against what they perceive as their common enemy – the People’s Progressive Party.  However, they – especially Salahuddin Nausruddin, the former ROAR campaign manager now turned AFC campaign manager have had experience of what happens to a party that supports the PNC, which is complete extinction. The United Force and ROAR are primary examples, so they have changed strategies and are instead colluding covertly with the PNC, with the intention of subsequently joining forces to create a parliamentary majority, once they think they have garnered a strong enough support base.
However, their stratagem failed, as has happened time and again before, because the PPP does not need subterfuges to create an election platform. The party’s platform has been built on the solid ground of achievements and progress in the nation.
As Donald Ramotar has said:  choosing between the PPP and the opposition is choosing between progress and retrogression in the Guyanese nation; and as the local saying goes “Been there, done that”.
