Several persons injured in multi-vehicle accident on East Bank

AN accident which occurred around 09:30hrs yesterday morning, along the East Bank Demerara corridor, in the vicinity of Great Diamond, has left several persons injured.
According to Raul Mohan, the driver of the Route 42 minibus that was involved in the accident, along with two other cars and a motorcycle, he was proceeding south along the East Bank Public Road when the incident occurred.
“I had just come from Kitty where I collected the seats for  the bus and I was going up Timehri side when a car overtake on the right hand side of the road and hit the bus before spinning out and hitting another car,” Mohan explained.
Continuing, he related that the car that hit him then spun out and collided with a motorcycle before coming to a halt on the southern side of the carriageway.
During the time of the interview, Mr. Mohan was being treated at the Diamond Diagnostic Centre for injuries he sustained to his abdomen during the ordeal.

No one was seriously hurt but several persons sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision and were treated at the Diamond Diagnostic Centre and subsequently released.
Meanwhile, the vehicles involved in the smash-up were removed from the scene and impounded at the Providence Police Station.
