Businessman shot dead by bandits

– one suspect in police custody
THE police are investigating a murder that occurred at about 11:00 hrs yesterday at Crown Dam, Industry, East Coast Demerara where businessman Dedie Ramjewan, 38 years, was fatally shot during an attack by two men on a motor cycle.
Investigations have so far revealed that Ramjewan was returning home in his motor vehicle PLL 1817 after transacting business at a bank in the city, when he was confronted by the two men along Crown Dam, Industry.

During the process Ramjewan was beaten about his head with a motor cycle helmet and shot to his chest. He later succumbed at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).

It has not yet been ascertained if anything was taken away from the victim’s vehicle by the perpetrators.
However, the police indicated that a man has been arrested and a motor cycle seized as the investigations continue.
