THE International Department of the Bank of Guyana (BOG) was the big winner yesterday when the bank hosted its annual Easter celebration.
Looking charming in a blue cotton mini dress, Lisa Thomas modelled the piece titled ‘Docile Glory’ that captured the prize. The highlight of the piece was a real rabbit named ‘Bella’, who sat quietly in her basket wiggling her nose in the way of her kind.
The categories included Traditional, Topical and Comicalv, and the banks’ many sections: Accounts and Budgeting, International Department, Governors Office, Information Service, Bank Supervision Department, Maintenance Division and Library, all participated.
The event is one of the many activities that are hosted by the bank. Vice-President of the Bank’s Sports and Cultural Club, Ms. Jacquelyn Blenman-Blackman said the event is hosted by the club.
“We celebrate every cultural group because our bank is made up of different ethnicities,” she said.
Apart from Easter, Blenman-Blackman said other celebrations that the bank observe include Emancipation Day, Amerindian Heritage, Diwali and the upcoming Indian Arrival Day. (Michelle Gonsalves)
