-participants to receive certificates at separate functions today and tomorrow
THE Guyana Agricultural and General Workers Union (GAWU) and the National Association of Agricultural, Commercial and Industrial Employees (NAACIE) with support from GMB, a British General Workers Union have completed a year-long training course entitled ‘Promoting Legal Rights and Building Union Capacity in Guyana’ and will be holding two (2) activities to present certificates to successful participants in Demerara and Berbice.
The Demerara activity will be held today at the Cheddi Jagan Research Centre and the Berbice Activity will be held tomorrow at the Albion Training Building. Both activities are slated to commence at 10:00 hrs sharp.
At the presentation of certificates, brief remarks will be delivered by GAWU’s President, Komal Chand; NAACIE’s General Secretary, Kenneth Joseph; Project Coordinator, Jorge Chullen; Jairam Petam, Human Resources Director of the Guyana Sugar Corporation (GuySuCo); and Yoganand Persaud, Chief Labour, Occupational Health and Safety Officer.
