Man charged with stealing underwear from mother, threatening grandfather

A MAN yesterday appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate, Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, and was placed on bail for stealing underwear from his mother and threatening his grandfather. Ehud James (no address given) pleaded not guilty to the charges, which stated that, on April 8, he stole a quantity of underwear valued $10,000 from Roslyn James.
The other charge stated that on April 9, he  used  threatening language to Winifred James thereby causing a breach of the peace.
Police Corporal Venetta Pindar, prosecuting, said the defendant is the son of Roslyn James and the grandson of Winifred James. She said the defendant is a habitual consumer of alcohol, who also ‘smokes and behaves disorderly’.
Pindar said, on the day in question, the defendant stole the items from his mother and threatened to burn down his grandfather’s house.
The defendant’s mother was present and informed the court that the defendant is indisciplined and needs to be disciplined.
James was placed on $25,000 bail for each offence and was ordered to move out from his grandfather’s house. The matter was transferred to another court for April 18.
