What religion will be taught in schools?

I AM writing in reference to a letter in the Guyana Chronicle dated Thursday April 07, 2011 captioned ‘Let us re-introduce religious education in schools’ by Datai Singh.
The letter writer is about to open a whole new can of worms when it comes to religions in schools.
Going to school in Guyana as a young kid I never believed in religion but had to go along with it because it was jammed down my throat.
What religion will be taught in schools?
Or, is the letter writer talking about the same religious prayer I had to say when I went to school in Guyana? The Lord’s prayer? Christian?
What about those who are not Christians, what religious prayer will they be taught in these schools?
Any religious prayers must have a time and place for it and that is in your homes and place of worship and not in schools, period.
No amount of religious teachings will stop an eleven or thirteen-year old from getting pregnant.
It’s the duty of parents to teach their young children right from wrong; good from bad with help from school teachers and elders also.
So let the religious people stick to their religious teachings at their place of worship and let teachers teach in schools.
Then there is the law of the land to ensure that justice is done against those who impregnate these underage young ladies.
The punishment must be so severe to serve as a deterrent to others who think they can do this and get away with it.
